Judy Lloyd for Assembly District 15
Judy got her start in public service in 1983, serving as a staff member in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1984, Judy joined the Reagan-Bush ‘84 campaign in their Washington, D.C. headquarters. After the campaign, she served in President Reagan’s Administration as an appointee at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Thereafter Lloyd served as Special Assistant to United States Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole, then as Director of External Affairs/Special Projects for the Republican National Committee. In her RNC position, she was the liaison with state governments for the “Contract with America” – a program that yielded one of the most sweeping changes in congressional and state legislative history.
In 1996, Judy Lloyd founded and operated two successful small businesses in areas as diverse as wedding planning, government affairs, event management, and strategic planning.
Judy returned to public service for the President in 2001 and was the first woman to serve as Region IX Representative for the U.S. Department of Labor. She was named by the East Bay Business Times a “Women of Distinction” in 2003 and received the Exceptional Achievement Award from Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao in 2004. She traveled in 2004 on a U.S. State Department mission to the Middle East to train Arab women seeking careers in public service. In 2006, she served as Chairman of the Faith-Based Committee of the Federal Regional Council. Later that year, Judy was named a State Co-Chair of the Schwarzenegger for Governor campaign.
Currently, Judy Lloyd co-owns Altamont Solutions, a Pleasanton-based custom software company. She served as a Schwarzenegger appointee as an alternate member of the California Coastal Commission, and currently serves on the Bay Area Boards of Directors of the California Women’s Leadership Association and the California Elected Women’s Association for Education and Research. She is a member of Women Impacting Public Policy, a national bi-partisan public policy organization, and works locally with the Contra Costa Council, Tri-Valley Business Council, Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, and the Diablo Valley Women in Business.
Judy lives in the Tri-Valley with her husband, Tim, and her 9-year old son, Michael, a 2005-2006 Pleasanton-Livermore Pony Baseball All-Star. They are active in local philanthropic activities including the Easter Seals Society, Pacific Research Institute, Women’s Initiative, Lazarex Cancer Foundation, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
