Interested in building the Republican Party right here in Alameda County? Want to interact with key Republican leaders? With the re-election of Governor Schwarzenegger the Republican Party is positioned to grow in preparation for the 2008 election.
The Alameda County Republican Party is now accepting interns for Winter-Spring 2007. This is an excellent way to get involved in the political process and learn about grassroots politics. Open to high school, college and graduate students and recent graduates. Hours are flexible to accommodate other commitments. Interns who can dedicate more time may be given managerial duties in the office.
Internship Description:

Manage ongoing political projects assigned by Executive Director.

Recruit volunteers for Party activities

Staff booths at fairs and festivals

Build structure of volunteer captains to take responsibility for their neighborhoods.

Serve as liaison between Central Committee and Republican officeholders/candidates.

Develop Party's relationships with local Republican organizations.

Conduct research for materials to post on website.

Keep volunteers informed about opportunities to get involved.

Maintain and enhance databases of
county
Republicans.

Prepare for fundraisers, events and meetings.

Work with other counties in collaboration on events.

Keep office workspace organized and maintained for volunteers.

Greet visitors, answer phones, sort mail.
Candidates should have good computer, phone and organizational skills. Previous campaign experience a plus but not required.
