California State GOP Convention a Rousing Sucess
John den Dulk, our candidate for Congress in the Ninth District, and his Campaign Manager, Kathy McMichael, report that they enjoyed the recent convention greatly. Kathy had her picture taken with an adoring Governor Schwarzenegger. John posed with Lou Ferrigno, "the Incredible Hulk with the Incredible Dulk." The convention ended with the strongest party unity we have seen in years, and we look forward to the Schwarzenegger tsunami carrying many GOP boats on to victory. Surfs up!
John and Kathy stopped at the Reagan Library and the new Air Force One exhibit on the way home. The graveside was especially moving. They then went sideways through Santa Barbara County, passing close by Rancho del Cielo. They had lunch at the Breakers Café in Morro Bay where John had bussed tables four decades ago, even though Americans won’t do that sort of work. Kathy is really enjoying her visit in the Golden State.
Kathy McMichael Joins Campaign
Kathy comes to John’s California Congressional campaign with a wealth of political experience in local, state and national government. She and John met in Washington, D.C. in the early 1980s when both of them enthusiastically worked for President Ronald Reagan.
Kathy started in politics as a Barry Goldwater girl when she was a TAR-Teen Age Republican-in her home state of New Jersey, and she has been involved in grass roots campaigns ever since. She was an elected school board member and elected NJ alternate delegate at large to the Republican National Convention in 1980, but most of her volunteering has been "behind the scenes" for Republican causes and candidates.
Her professional career includes teaching high school social studies, working in the Reagan White House in the Office of Public Liaison, lobbying on the state and national level for the School Boards Association, and serving in management positions in the executive branches of state and federal government agencies.
JD on KSFO
Your candidate for Congress against Barbara Lee in the Ninth District has appeared several times on KFSO recently with Brian Sussman in the 6 PM to 8 PM slot. He has mostly discussed supporting our troops, and delineated the great success we have had so far in the War on Jihadi Terrorism. He has pointed out that six terror sponsoring governments Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Sudan, Iraq and Syria have had their ability to support terrorists destroyed or diminished in the last five years. Six of the major jihadi groups have suffered a similar fate, al Qaeda, al Taliban, Abu Abbas, Abu Nidal, Hamas and Hezbollah.
Last week he agreed with Suss that too many politicians have been too critical on the War on the Jihadis. He pointed out that if you make a criticism that has merit, it still probably will not help the effort, and may hurt it. Anyone who makes incorrect criticism, for instance restating the spurious claim that there were no WMDs in Iraq, commits sedition, hurting our troops and our country when they speak falsely.
