The Chabot-Las Positas Community College (CLPCC) Board is censuring fellow Trustee Luis Reynoso for refusing to remove an apple meme post that hurt some people’s feelings. Accusations began when Trustee Reynoso reposted the apple meme on his private Linkedin page to his 4,000+ followers. Two anonymous individuals told the faculty senate that the meme was “hateful, harmful, and anti-LGBTQ+”. 

No one has filed an official complaint, even though the college district has detailed grievance procedures. Yet, the CLPCC Board demanded Trustee Reynoso’s apology and is censuring him for “unethical behavior”. Speech that results in someone feeling hurt is not unethical behavior.  Trustee Reynoso is also a high school teacher. Coincidentally and suddenly, last week the school district fired him for no longer being a good fit.   Both the CLPCC Board censure and the school district firing are extreme responses. Is something more wicked behind this?

Trustee Reynoso has a record of exposing local government corruption. In addition, he protected public education from Chinese government propaganda, transgender ideology, and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, which actually promote discrimination and division.  Does the Chinese government have a connection to the CLPCC Board? Board President Sbranti was Congressman Eric Swalwell’s Deputy Chief of Staff. Both men have associated with Chinese spy Fang Fang.
